Rent a Car

CAR HIRE

Minimum car rental period is 3 days, all the cars are rented with unlimited mileage. Due to the insurance rules and regulations, our rental cars can only be driven in North Cyprus borders – the hired car cannot be taken to South Cyprus.

PAYMENT

Payment can be made in BP, Euro, USD, or TL (Turkish Lira) should be made at the time of deliver –  you don’t have to pay until you collect your hire car. All the kinds of credit cards are accepted.

PETROL

Petrol is not refundable. We deliver car with quarter full of petrol and you should leave the tank as you find it.

INSURANCE

Collision Damage Waiver  (CDW)
Our Damage Waiver Cover allows you to reduce your Insurance Excess in the event of damage to the vehicle.

CDW is not valid if:

  • The renter found is the effect of alcohol,
  • The renter violates the speed limits,
  • The renter do not call police to keep an accident report, in the case of an accident. In this case Car Hire Company should be informed immediately.
  • The renter allows to other party to drive the hired car that his/her name is not written on the rental agreement.
  • The renter do not obey the traffic rules in general.
  • The lost or broken car keys.

The excess on the CDW is 180 GBP or 200 EUROS. The renter will be responsible to pay this amount only if they are the fault side for the damage or accident.

 

DRIVING AGE AND DRIVING LICENSE

Driver should be at least 25 years old. All national and international driving licenses are accepted as they are valid.

 

RIGHT HAND DRIVE (RHD)

Driving on Cyprus is on the left, all our cars are right hand drive.

 

TRAFFIC FINES

All traffic fines will be under the renters responsibility during the rental period.

EXTENSION OF RENTAL

If the renter wish to extend the days of rental days, The Car Hire Company should be informed at least 24hours before the ending the date, otherwise extension may not be acceptable.

However, there is no refund in case of returning car before the agreed date and time.

Practicality

Since the public transport on Northern Cyprus is still developing and there are infrequent bus services to many areas of the country, as well as most of bus services do not operate after 5pm., hiring and driving car is the most advisable form of get to know the country.

Simplicity

Driving in North Cyprus is especially easy for British drivers, since the traffic moves on the left and majority of cars are being right hand drive. The traffic signs are in English.

Fun

You will be amazed with lack of a long-distance traffic on the island! An important point is the fact, that the main roads on the island are in a very good condition and roads between villages are reasonably good as well.

Petrol

Most petrol stations are open from 7:00 a.m. and close around 8:00 a.m. Some however, stay open later and there is an increasing number of stations which operate 24 hours a day.

Petrol prices are cheaper than in Turkey and most of  European countries.

1 litre of Euro Diesel costs approximately 3,15TL

1 litre of gasoline – 3,10 TL

Parking

Free municipal parking is available in all major towns, however as a general rule, you herever you see an available space. Restricted areas are marked with either a no parking sign or black and white painted curbstone. These are the same as double yellow lines. Car parks are called Oto Parks.

DRIVING REGULATIONS

Speed limits on all roads are posted in KPH.

The highway speed limits set at 100km/h and 65 to 60 km/h and 50 to 65 km/h in the cities. Please notice, that it is important to pay attention to speed limits as there are speed cameras and photo radars at the most part of the island.

Drink drive limit:Drivers are prohibited to drive under the influence of alcohol.

The limit is 50 mgr of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood (0.5 grams per litre) / 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath.

  • Front seat passengers must wear seatbelts.
  • Children are not allowed to sit in the front passenger seat.
  • The using of a cell (mobile) phone while driving is not allowed.
